Margaret Harrison Vice President Lichfield Society of Artists

After leaving Central Television after 30 years, my husband Stuart suggested I take up painting which I had always enjoyed at school. I worked very odd hours for most of my life and found it difficult to take classes.

After retiring I joined Lichfield College and spent many happy hours there. The College has more or less phased us 'wrinklies' out with the influx of younger people and the huge expansion programme. Along with a large number of other people I followed Mary Griffin with her classes first in Lichfield city centre and now at Curborough which I thoroughly enjoy.

I joined Lichfield Society of artists many years ago my first job as a comittee member was exhibition co-ordinator. I was chairman for three years and now hold the title Vice president.

I do not paint as much as I would like to, there seems to be so many other calls on my time.

The paintings here are 'Venice' in Pastel. 'Barcelona' also in pastel and 'Tulips'

If you click on the paintings a larger version opens in a new window.
